| Agenda of the International Platform of Networks for Participatory Budgeting in Dakar |
In Dakar, on the 10th February 2011, we gather to hold the 2nd Assembly of the International Platform of Networks for Participatory Budgeting, with a wide representation of networks, local governments and social and academic organizations from Africa, Europe and Latin America. This Assembly allowed us to analyse the current situation of the processes of participatory budgeting taking place in Colombia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Senegal, Cape Verde, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroun, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Mauritania and China. This Assembly was a unique opportunity to extend the network to the African countries and to share our different realities. The attendants presented their experiences, the difficulties they must overcome in the current context of crisis and the challenges for the future.
